From Nancy Rodman Smith '61 ...

Before signing off on this event, I would like to relate my most touching moment of the weekend. On Saturday night we set up a table at the social with my computer and annuals and scrapbooks from past reunions and past days. In the course of the evening, the table was visited by a couple. Steve Gonzalez is a 1983 CHS grad. His wife Tyra Gerhards Gonzalez did not attend CHS but she was looking for her dad, class of 61. She has no photos of him between age 10 and the time that he married. He was a Corpus Christi police officer and died in 1998. We found his photo in 2 annuals and it was an emotional moment, especially when her husband pointed out that she looks just like him. We have now scanned the photos and have emailed them to Tyra. I am going to paste one in here, at low resolution. If you knew her dad and are willing to send some remembrance of him, Tyra would appreciate it. His name was Arnold “Butch” Gerhards. He lived on Gabriel Street and attended St. Cyril when in jr hi. Our homerooms were assigned alphabetically, so someone in the G’s might remember him from homeroom.
